TRI-CITY REGIONAL PARK, CADescriptionTri-City Regional Park is located on the site of the former Tuffree Reservoir built in the 1870s to provide irrigation water for local farms. Urban development in the 1950s and 1960s led to a reduction of the agriculture in the area and a greatly diminished need for the reservoir. In the mid-1970s, the cities of Placentia, Brea and Fullerton created the Tri-City Park Authority to develop the reservoir and adjacent land into a public park known as Tri-City Park. In 2013, at the request of the Authority, the park was transferred to the County of Orange for inclusion into the County’s regional park system. The County now operates the park as Tri-City Regional Park. The 40-acre park is located in the City of Placentia and is bordered on two sides by the City of Fullerton and is within a quarter-mile of the City of Brea's border. The park includes a three-acre lake and 3 reservable picnic shelters. The park provides a variety of recreational opportunities, including bicycling and walking, model sail boating and fishing. The park also has a children’s playground suitable for ages 5-12. Geography:The lake is stocked with fish by California Department of Fish and Wildlife. A California fishing license is required for persons 16 years and older to fish at the lake. Launching of model radio-controlled sailboats is also permitted on the lake. Recreation:In addition to the numerous resident ducks and geese the park is a wildlife sanctuary and the lake is used by many annual migratory waterfowl. This makes the park a very popular bird watching destination. Facilities:Three picnic shelters provide shade with tables and barbecues. In addition there are several picnic tables and park benches scattered throughout the park. Services & Amenities:
